Lori graduated with a BS degree in Cardiopulmonary Care Science from Georgia State
University in 1996. After graduating, She worked at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for three
years. She then moved into the adult care setting and soon became a night shift supervisor
in a 560 bed facility with adults and pediatrics. Lori has always loved teaching therefore
obtained a position as a Clinical Coordinator. She was able to be a resource for students, as
well as new and existing employees in the realm of education. She wrote policies and
procedures and also kept up with competencies. This however, still did not seem enough, so
she went back to school. I finished my Masters in Education last June. Up to this point, her
career in Respiratory Therapy had been in Atlanta, Georgia. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada
last August to take a position with Pima Medical Institute as the Clinical Director of
Respiratory Therapy. Since then, she has thoroughly enjoyed teaching Respiratory Therapy
students, coordinating clinical rotations, and building relationships with each of our clinical
sites (this is no small task with over 80 students, and approximately 26 clinical sites!) Lori
truly loves the field of Respiratory Therapy and feels that her positive energy can have a
great impact in developing the NSRC as a strong link for all of our therapists statewide.
